Do I need to book tickets in advance?
To avoid disappointment bookings are highly recommended. Limited tickets are available for each Darwin Harbour Cruise or Darwin Day Tour.
How many people are on each Darwin tour?
Each vessel seats approx. 30 people, including the captain.
Can I take food and drinks on a Duckabout tour?
We encourage guests to bring bottled water, especially during Darwin tours in warm weather. However, we ask that no food be brought on board. Alcohol is only permitted during special charters, under prior arrangement.
Are there toilets on board?
Please be aware that our vessels do not have toilet facilities. There are no toilet breaks during Ride the Croc tours. Toilet breaks are included during the BIG Wheels on Water Darwin day tours.
Do I need a baby seat for my infant?
Children aged 2 years or under travel free. All infants travel on the lap of a parent or guardian on our Darwin attractions.
Do you carry prams on board?
For safety reasons we are unable to carry prams onboard during our Darwin harbour cruises or Darwin day tours.
How long do tours run?
On Ride the Croc our Splash n' Dash tour lasts approximately 1¼ hours with approximately 40 minutes of this time on the water. Ride the Croc sunset Darwin Harbour Cruises depart at twilight and run for over 2 hours.
Darwin Day Tours on BIG Wheels on Water runs for approximately 4½ hours.
Do you offer group discounts? Can I charter a vessel exclusively?
Absolutely. Contact our booking office to ask about group discounts. Duckabout Tours also happily accommodates special events such as birthday and Christmas parties, corporate functions, weddings, and bucks and hens nights. Catering can be arranged, including drinks.
Can you get on and off during a tour?
No, all of our Darwin attractions run without stops - however, the BIG Wheels on Water Darwin day tour does stop periodically while visiting tourist attractions around Darwin.
Is there reserved seating?
Seating is not reserved, but be assured that our seating layout has been designed to give everyone a fantastic view of Darwin attractions.
Will we get wet?
The BIG SPLASH is part of the Duckabout Tours experience. You can expect some slight spray as we embark on our water journey as part of this Darwin attraction.
Are there disabled facilities? Are vessels wheelchair accessible?
We have priority seating near the entrance of our vessels for people with a disability. Please be mindful that all guests are required to climb five stairs with a rope handrail to enter and exit vessels. At this point-in-time, our vessels are not wheelchair accessible.
Where do we pick up our tickets?
Ride the Croc leaves from the bus bay next to the main Darwin Tourist Information Centre, cnr of Smith and Bennet streets, Darwin. Pick up your tickets from the Ride the Croc driver at least 15mins prior to departure to avoid forfeiture.
BIG Wheels on Water leaves from the bus bay next to the main Darwin Tourist Information Centre, cnr of Smith and Bennet streets, Darwin, or you will be picked up from your hotel if prior arrangements have been made. If you have not paid for your ticket over the phone, you will purchase your ticket from the bus driver.
Do your tours run in all weather?
Yes. Duck About Tours run in all weather. However, in case of extreme weather conditions management has the right to cancel tours in the interest of your safety.
